What I Eat in a Day

You all seem to really like the food posts, so why not give y’all another one? This isn’t anything too wild, but I thought it’d be fun if I showed y’all everything I eat in a day. Just a disclaimer before we get started: I’m not saying that this is how you should eat or this is a perfect day of eating. This is just realistically what I eat in a day, and I really enjoy all of the foods that I eat. None of these foods are going to be all artsy and Instagram-worthy, but they taste good and that’s all that matters. If you’re looking for artsy pics or delish food recs, visit my food favorites post! Hope you all enjoy it (I sure did because I am now so hungry while writing this)!

9:00 AM: Breakfast

Today’s breakfast was avocado toast (are you surprised? Because I’m not). I’ve grown to like avocados a lot more in the past year or so, and avo toast has been my go-to breakfast since quarantine began. I just toasted some bread (this one’s Dave’s Killer Bread, which is in fact killer) and added some mashed avocado and a hard (more like medium) boiled egg. On the side I had some cantaloupe, which was very sweet but very good.

9:00 AM: Water

You don’t eat water, but you do need to hydrate.

10:30 AM: Snack 1

I went on a run and then ate some Greek yogurt with granola (I’ve mentioned this a million times, but this is the Quaker Raisin & Almond granola), chia seeds, and bananas. My family has this every weekday morning as a snack while we’re working. 10/10 recommend. Keeps you full and is really good!

12:30 PM: Lunch

Left: pizza pre-bake. Middle: pizza post-bake. Right: slide of 'za.

My parents had meetings today and didn’t have time to cook, so I made pizza from scratch for lunch! I used this recipe, which has never failed me before. I usually use ½ whole wheat flour and ½ all-purpose flour for those whole! grains! I rolled the dough out into what was supposed to be a rectangle but ended up more of an ellipse. Whoops. I just topped the pizza with some tomato sauce, shredded mozzarella, onions, green peas, cauliflower, and brussels sprouts. A wacky combination for sure, but those were the toppings that we had left in the fridge. As I’m writing this I’m realizing that I forgot to put the ham and shredded chicken on the pizza. Well, I done messed up, but that’s okay. Veggies are cool (woo?). I ended up heating the meat up in the microwave since it was already cooked and sprinkled it on top of the baked pizza. Please note the chopsticks to the right of the third picture because my Asian family uses chopsticks for everything, period.

3:00 PM: Snack 2

I did some work for a couple hours and then my mom brought over some watermelon!! Watermelon breaks are the best parts of my days; if I were to rank all of the fruits, watermelon would definitely be in the top 5. Random story: I was at a study hall and my friends were playing trivia next to me. One of the questions was “how much of a watermelon is water” and so now the fact that watermelons are 92% water is forever ingrained in my mind.

5:00 PM: Snack 3

I was feeling kind of hungry, and I knew I still had a couple hours to go before dinner, so I just had some cereal. It’s not breakfast time, but you know, cereal is so good that why aren’t we just eating it for every meal? These is Honey Bunches of Oats, which is the best cereal to ever exist; I eat these just straight out of the container way too much. I usually have peanut butter on toast for an afternoon snack, but I didn’t want to have toast today because I already had bread for breakfast and lunch. Some of my very strong cereal opinions for you: cereal before milk always, soggy cereal > crunchy cereal. No hate please.

6:30 PM: Dinner

Best meal of the day. Can’t complain about dinner. Chef’s kiss. We usually eat dinner as a family, but my dad had a meeting run late and I had to work, so I just ate first. I had sticky rice with brussels sprouts, pork and soybeans cooked in the pressure cooker, and air-fried tilapia. The airfryer is the best investment my family made this year, hands down. When I move out I’m buying myself an airfryer. Also, I drank some milk because I’m short.

8:30 PM: Dessert

This doesn’t really count as dessert, but the header 8:30 PM: Dessert sounded nice. I have some sort of fruit every night, so tonight I had a peach. Yum. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I get so much satisfaction from cutting peaches because I can cut them just like avocados and it’s just so nice. Also may or may not have stolen a handful of Honey Bunches of Oats to snack on hehe.

So that was everything I ate today! Hope this gave you some food ideas or you just enjoyed looking at my mediocre photos, and have a great day :)
