Winter What I Eat In a Day

It’s been a while since I’ve done one of these. I’m not quite sure why because I love my food posts, but I guess it just hasn’t come up in my brainstorming. Regardless, these are always really fun to make, and maybe this will help y’all with meal inspiration. I don’t think my eating habits change all that much from season to season except maybe the fruit that I eat, but happy reading!

8:30 AM: Breakfast

You were expecting overnight oats, weren’t you? Hate to rain on your parade, but guess who isn’t eating overnight oats every day anymore -- me, that’s who. I’ll be real honest here; I was kind of thinking about eating overnight oats today, but I decided to do something different for the content.

Here we have today’s breakfast spread. I ate a homemade red bean bun, steamed broccoli, a mini-quiche, and some golden kiwi and banana pieces. Milk on the side, of course. Everything in this meal was delicious, and golden kiwi has really grown on me over the past few months.

11:00 AM: Snack #1

As a little mid-morning snack, I had a few orange slices. Oranges have also grown on me since quarantine, and who doesn’t love some Vitamin C?

12:00 PM Lunch

I was a little dim-witted here and forgot to take a picture of my lunch so here are the remnants of it. The rectangular thing translates to “carrot cake” in English -- it’s made from shredded white carrots, rice flour, and Chinese sausage, and then you pan-fry it. The texture is like 60% shredded white carrot and 40% soft/chewy batter. We also had bean soup with quinoa, steamed broccoli + leftover pork/chicken (not pictured), and fried eggs. Tasty, just not shown.

2:00 PM Snack #2

I had a meeting, so I grabbed a snack right before and remembered to take a picture of it. It’s not the most aesthetically pleasing, but I toasted half of a cinnamon-raisin bagel and spread cream cheese on it. It’s been so long since I’ve had bagels and cream cheese (literally since fall 2019 for volleyball season), and it’s one of my favorite things. By the way, the most superior bagels are blueberry bagels.

3:30 PM: Snack #3

We have here the return of a favorite: yogurt with banana, granola, and chia seeds. This snack never gets old.

6:00 PM: Dinner

I legitimately cannot tell you where my brain went today because I also forgot to take a picture of my dinner. We had steamed sweet potatoes, chickpeas + pork, green beans, and shrimp, so hopefully y’all know what those look like. We’re going to forget this incident ever happened.

8:30 PM: Snack #4

As a post-dinner snack I had some more orange slices and a vanilla shortbread cookie (yes Jenny these are the ones you got me -- they are heaven). PS I made overnight oats for tomorrow after eating these… back on the oats train.

Today was a very delicious day of eating, and I hope you all enjoyed it!
