Ah, the weekend. I will let you know that from ages 5 to 13, whenever someone asked me what my favorite day of the week was, I would always say Tuesday. It might’ve been because my favorite YouTubers always posted on Tuesday, but for some reason, I was super into those days. But then, I got into high school and had actual schoolwork to do. So um, weekdays weren’t too cute anymore. I’ve definitely come to appreciate weekends a lot more now because of how much time I have to get everything done. With that being said, today I decided to show you what a weekend in my life looks like. This is just Saturday because it was a bit more productive and I wasn’t about to give y’all a 15-minute post to read. I did some homework, relaxed a bit, and had a happy lil Saturday, so I’m glad I can share this with y’all.
By the way, my favorite day of the week is Sunday now. I used to hate Sundays with a passion growing up because I had to go to Sunday school, and I always liked Saturdays better than Sundays, especially because I could go to sleep late on Saturdays and I didn’t have school the next day. With online school this year, we don’t have class on Mondays, so I can do all of my work on my own and don’t have to stress on Sunday. My Sundays are definitely the most chill, and I love lazy Sundays. Okay, here’s a weekend in my life. Have fun!!
8:00 AM: Wake Up
I woke up bright and early today because I had a lot of work to get done, and I feel like I don’t have enough time in the day if I wake up late. On the day I made this, the following week was the last full week of the semester so I had a lot of tests to study for. So fun. I know.
8:05 AM: Get Ready
I’ve gone over my morning routine about 18 times and nothing has changed :))
8:15 AM: Breakfast
My mom made veggie pancakes with carrot, celery, and onion, which were delicious. I like to dip these in ketchup for some reason, but I think it adds flavor.
8:30 AM: Workout
My favorite time to work out is in the morning because I feel like I use the afternoon as my prime work hours and I don’t want to get up in the middle and work out. Working out also helps me wake up and I hate doing work early in the morning, so here’s me running on the treadmill at 8 am (I also did a Chloe Ting ab workout after). I usually watch a movie, show, or YouTube video while working out, so today I watched Linda Sun’s latest video. If I’m being completely honest, it took me 15 minutes to pick out what to watch because I wasn’t feeling anything. Nice use of my time.
10:00 AM: Chemistry Homework
I have a chemistry test next week and an assignment to do this weekend, so I got to work on that assignment. I thought it would take a lot longer to complete the assignment than it actually did, so that’s a win in my book.
11:30 AM: Songwriting Intermission
I was downstairs getting a snack when I suddenly got inspired to do a rewrite of “drivers license” by Olivia Rodrigo (stream her song it’s amazon) from the other girl’s point of view. I actually did a rewrite from Olivia’s best friend’s point of view late last night, so I guess you could call me an Olivia Rodrigo stan. Honestly, though, “drivers license” is so emotional and Olivia is incredibly talented, so I can’t wait for her EP to come out. The only videos I got have my face in them, and my voice is kind of tired because I don’t have the range that Olivia does , so if you want either version you can text me and I’ll send it to you.
12:00 PM: Lunch
My parents were out hiking, so for lunch, I had leftover pasta and a pancake from this morning. Nothing too exciting, but it was pretty good.
1:00 PM: Study for Math Test
I also have a math test coming up on Friday that I seriously need to study for because I don’t have a clue what I’m doing. I started by going through my notes and making a study guide with important information and notes, and then I planned out which practice problems from the textbook I would do.
2:00 PM: English Project (turned sister socializing time)
For English, we have a project where we have to make a podcast connecting a theme from The Scarlet Letter to a real-world issue. My podcast is about the hypocrisy in the book and how that relates to performative activism, and for it, I decided to interview my lovely sister. The actual podcast is short, but we ended up talking for a while about random stuff. Good times.
3:30 PM: More Math
After talking to my sister, I went and studied some more math. I worked on some of the practice problems I mentioned earlier, and they were kind of rough, I’m not going to lie. The plan for tomorrow is to do more math and figure out what I’m doing.
6:00 PM: Dinner
Today’s dinner was very good! We had some pork and white carrot soup, lima beans with beef, broccoli, and shrimp. The golden-brown discs are a variation of a dumpling: they have a similar dough, but the filling is cooked before the dumplings are made. The filling consisted of white carrots, Chinese sausage, and scrambled eggs, and you basically roll out the dough, place the filling in, and roll it all up like a pinwheel. Chef’s kiss.
7:00 PM: Coding Class
You’ve definitely heard me talk about this a little while ago, but I teach a coding class once a week, so this was our weekly session.
Study for History Test
After the class was over, I had to study for yet another test I have coming up for history. This one’s on Tuesday, and I am quite scared. I don’t know how I’m going to be able to remember all of these people’s names and what they did. The main thing I’ve been using to study history this year has been Quizlet; I just take the keywords from the unit and use my notes to create a set of flashcards. This has been really helpful for remembering people and events because I have the wonderful skill of being unable to retain any information I read.
10:00 PM: Get Un-ready
Today was long and tiring. I was honestly ready to pass out at 6 pm, so I was very excited to unwind for the night. Again, you’ve seen my night routine way too many times so I won’t go over the exact details.
10:30 PM: Relax
No matter how early I wake up, nighttime will always be my favorite part of the day. I started a Legendary by Stephanie Garber, which is the second book in the Caraval trilogy about a magic circus-type thing. It took me a bit to get into also watched some TikToks just because.
Late: Sleep
Good night everyone, and thanks for coming along with me for a weekend in my life!
