To be completely honest, I don’t know how we ended up here. My sister had a blog a few years back and some of my friends have their fair share of blogging experience, but I never thought I’d hop on the blogging train myself. But look where I am now! For my first post, I wanted to share what compelled me to start Mismatched Memories. It’s not that interesting of a story, but maybe it’ll help give some context.
The biggest thing that got the actual idea of blogging in my head was my friends: I had two friends that started blogs of their own while bored during self-isolation. Before, I never really thought that blogging was a thing I could do. I’ve definitely thought of starting a YouTube channel, but for various reasons (privacy, fear of being made fun of, etc), I haven’t gotten around to it. To me, blogging feels like a happy medium between putting my face and life story on YouTube and not sharing any information to anyone besides the 50 people on my private Instagram. Hopefully Mismatched Memories will be able to give me a sort of creative outlet where I can write what I enjoy writing and share with my (likely few) readers the content they want to see. This blog will also give me something substantial to look back on in a few years, given that I’ll want to find out what was going on in my teen mind.
This blog won’t stick to just one topic, but instead feature a bunch of random ones: music, lifestyle, photography, food, and really anything I want to put up here. Welcome to Mismatched Memories, where I couldn’t stick to one niche so instead I chose them all! Maybe the name makes a little more sense now.
More about me: I’m a mildly stressed high school student, and my hobbies include playing volleyball, singing (halfway decently), playing the ukulele, baking, and fretting about my future. I’d like to think I’m at least a little funny, but some people would strongly disagree with that statement. You’ll probably be able to figure out more about me based on the next few posts, but those few sentences will do for now. Thanks for reading my first post, and here’s to many more in the future!
Note: the cover image was taken at sunset outside my house.
