Friends Describe Me With One Word

I think you’ve figured out by now that I love using my friends for content, and I love analyzing what other people think of me. This time, I wanted to see how my friends would describe me using only one word. My goal with this is to figure out what other people see as my dominant personality trait, specifically the way I appear to other people and especially my close friends/family. I think this will be another interesting little social experiment, so I hope you enjoy reading!

Before

To start, I’m going to be going through the answers I expect that people will say and the ways that my personality type might hint at the possible answers I’ll get. I’m a Virgo, but I’m also a Sagittarius rising. Your rising sign pertains to how others see you, so this may be applicable when thinking about how others would describe me. According to Trusted Psychic Mediums, Sagittarius rising signs are adventurous, courageous, optimistic, fun-loving, generous, enthusiastic, and creative. Honestly, I don’t think I fit the bill for a Sagittarius rising that well (I fit Virgo, my sun sign, much better), but who knows.

Of course, it wouldn’t be a talk about personality types without the MBTI and the enneagram. As you may know, I’m an ISFJ (the Defender), and according to 16 Personalities, “These people tend to be warm and unassuming in their own steady way. They’re efficient and responsible, giving careful attention to practical details in their daily lives.” My strengths include being supportive, reliable, patient, imaginative, observant, enthusiastic, loyal, hard-working, and practical. As for my enneagram, I’m a type 3 (the Achiever). According to Truity, this is “the Success-Oriented, Pragmatic type: adaptable, excelling, driven, and image-conscious”.

Taking all of that into account, as well as the way I think others perceive me, I feel like the most common answers will be things along the lines of friendly, caring, or hard-working. I think I try my best to project very organized, outgoing, has-her-life-together vibes, and you know, sometimes that’s true, but other times I’m just completely chaotic and do not want to talk to anyone at all. I also put caring there because it’s not uncommon for me to be named the mom of the friend group.

Now that I’ve put in my predictions, time to see what words my friends actually used to describe me.

The Answers

  • “Caroline”

This one is what brother said, and I think it is in fact, very correct. Very accurate. Spot on, honestly.

  • “Put-together”

I appreciate this one. Again, referencing the “has-her-life-together vibes”, I try to make myself seem like I have my life together. Is it true? Questionable.

  • “Young”

This one is from one of my friends who is about 9 months older than me, so I guess this is accurate. Too many of my friends have made fun of me for being young.

  • “Dedicated”

I think this is valid because I feel like for me, I’m one of those people who always puts her all into helping other people and hates to quit or throw in the towel. Sometimes I kind of works against me, but mostly, it makes me a really helpful and responsible person.

  • “Influential”

This one was a really pleasant surprise and one that I didn’t really think of possibly coming up. This is definitely a compliment, and I feel like someone would think of me as influential because I take on a lot of leadership roles. I love leadership, and I think (hopefully) that I’m a good leader.

  • “Swag”

This one is very nice. I am very swag, indeed.

  • “Extraordinary”

My sister said this, so thank you, Jenny, for thinking I am extraordinary because that’s a huge compliment. My heart is warmed.

  • “Kind”

I think most of all, I love when someone thinks I’m kind. It’s super important to me that I treat everyone well, so my friends thinking I’m a genuinely kind person is very comforting.

  • “Disciplined”

This one was from my dad, and it’s a compliment he frequently uses for me, mostly because I do my homework and don’t do any bad teen things. I mean, I never have the opportunity to do any bad teen things, but I do think I’m a pretty disciplined person. I also get anxious when I break rules, but that’s a different story.

  • “Organized”

My mom said this, and this is also one of the vibes that I want to project and that I’m glad I do. Sometimes the organization goes kind of awry, but most of the time, I try to stay as organized as possible. I think I’ve posted something about how I organize my life, but Notion, my planner, and Apple Calendar are my saviors.

  • “Book”

This is another one that made me laugh. Hehe. Books take up 90% of my life, so this is in fact, very accurate.

My Thoughts

These were kind of all over the place, which isn’t a bad thing because I was pleasantly surprised with all of the words that people used to describe me. Some of them were funny (but accurate), and others were huge compliments that I really appreciated. This was definitely an ego boost, and I’m really glad that I cast a positive impression on my closest friends. To my friends and family, I love you, and thank you!
