Vaxxed girl summer: episode 1 :D I'm finally fully vaccinated and I don't think I realized how monumental this change would be. It's like the light at the end of the tunnel that I've been waiting to reach for so long, and now I'm finally able to see my friends and go out more safely. Yes, I will still be wearing my mask, and I'm only seeing a very limited amount of people, so I'm still staying as safe as possible! If you can, get vaccinated, and enjoy this exciting day in my life seeing friends and starting off vaxxed girl summer!

8:30 AM: Wake Up
Rise and shine!
PS: my phone lock screen is fanart of Helene and Harper from the An Ember in the Ashes series by Sabaa Tahir (art credits: emiliesnaith_art).
8:35 AM: Get Ready
The standard brush teeth --> wash face --> lotion --> light makeup routine.
9:00 AM: Breakfast
For breakfast, I had a (delicious) pita wrap with ham, lettuce, carrots, cheese, and egg. On the side, I had a few slices of white peach. Peaches are one of my favorite fruits, so I'm really happy that they're in season.
9:30 AM: Go Out!!
I spent the majority of today out with a bunch of my friends (we're vaccinated, don't worry). We all volunteer together, so we decided to go out into the city and hang out. It was super fun, and I had a great time.
Here's a picture of what's in my bag! The bag is my sister's and it's from Vera Bradley. In the main pocket, I have my wallet, AirPods, and sunglasses (from Francesca's). In the left side pocket, I kept hand sanitizer and band-aids. In the right side pocket, I have spare hair ties and lip balm.
11:00 AM: Pictures
We spent a good couple of hours taking pictures together, and I finally posted on Instagram for the first time in almost 2 years. Calls for a celebration.
12:00 PM: Boba
We then went to a nearby boba shop and got boba! I got taro milk tea with boba, and it looked so pretty and tasted even better. I've only just been getting into drinking milk tea; I usually only got fruit slush or brown sugar milk when I got boba, but I wanted to branch out and try some new things. I got Thai milk tea a couple weeks ago and loved it, and now I realized that I'm a fan of taro milk tea!
1:00 PM: Picnic
We walked into a different part of the city and set up a picnic at the park. Some of us went to a nearby bakery (I didn't because I was full from boba), and then the rest of us talked, ate snacks, and played games!
3:00 PM: Lunch
We had a super late lunch at a seafood restaurant. We shared appetizers of soft pretzels and calamari, and for my entree, I ordered a Chesapeake roll. I'm not sure if you can tell in the picture, but it has cucumber and crab in it. The crab is mixed with a pinkish-orange sauce that was probably cream cheese-based, and the roll was on top of a white sauce that also tasted kind of cream-cheesy. The roll was topped with crunchy fried vegetables of some sort, and overall, the whole thing tasted like a crab cake. Amazing.
Here's a picture of the cheesecake a couple of my friends shared lol.
5:00 PM: Get Home
After lunch, I met up with my parents and we drove home! I took a nap in the car because I was so tired.
6:00 PM: Dinner
On the way home, my parents picked up Chinese carry-out and we ate that for dinner! I will try my best to describe each of the (delicious) dishes. In the left-most bowls were soup and in the center bowl was something called a zongzi, which Wikipedia defines as "a traditional Chinese rice dish made of glutinous rice stuffed with different fillings and wrapped in bamboo leaves, or sometimes with reed or other large flat leaves". This zongzi was filled with pork! A Chinese holiday called the Dragon Boat Festival was a few days after I made this post, and zongzi is one of the traditional foods used to celebrate the festival. One of our family friends made and dropped these zongzi off, but the day after, my mom made some of her own! In the far takeout container, there was rice, cauliflower, and pork; in the near takeout container, there was rice, tofu, cabbage, red bell peppers, meatballs, and a different type of pork. 10/10 delish.
7:00 PM: Reading
I mentioned in the last video that I was annotating The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo for my friend, and I continued doing that for the night!
Late: Sleep
A few hours later, I called it a night, got ready for bed, and it was lights out! Happy summer everyone, and hope you enjoyed this day in my life!
