Merry Christmas everyone! For those of y’all that don’t celebrate Christmas, then happy holidays for whatever holiday you may celebrate. It’s actually the most wonderful time of the year (unlike all of those other times when I write it sarcastically), and I wanted to celebrate this Christmas with a lil music session. I count down the days until it’s socially acceptable to listen to Christmas music, and since it’s Christmas music prime time right now, what better time than now to have a dedicated post to this? I’m going to be singing a few of my all-time favorite Christmas songs, so just play the videos, sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! Last Christmas - Wham!
Back when I was in elementary school, I did a figure skating routine to this for my skating rink’s holiday show. I was so cute. That routine was adorable. “Last Christmas” has that pop music vibe rather than a more jazzy vibe, which I love. In my opinion, it’s one of the best Christmas songs.
It’s Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas - Meredith Wilson
Ah yes, a Michael Buble classic. If one of his best songs wasn’t featured in this post, I think it’d be criminal. When I think of Christmas songs, I think of him. Even though these songs have been sung by many people over the years, Michael Buble’s rendition is definitely one of the best. As well as Bing Crosby’s. Although I don’t have the deep jazzy voice to do this song justice, I still love this song. Credit to Meredith Wilson, though, for writing this beautiful song.
Mistletoe - Justin Bieber
I put this song on here for the memes, but it’s actually a really good Christmas song. It’s wild that Justin Bieber is 26 and married now, but it’s always fun to go back and listen to his older songs.
Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas - Judy Garland
This song is also such a classic, and my favorite versions are from Michael Buble (of course) and Sam Smith. Have yourself a merry little Christmas, everyone!
River - Joni Mitchell
I came across this song last year when Ben Platt sang it in The Politician, and then I started listening to it again when Olivia Rodrigo released a rendition of it for High School Musical: The Musical: The Holiday Special. It’s originally by Joni Mitchell, and it’s a bit of a sadder Christmas song, but I absolutely love it.
